9 New Coffee Table Books// Fall 2020

A new season brings….new coffee table books! Fall and Spring are always the most exciting book debut seasons, and 2020 (thankfully) is no exception. We’ve rounded up a few of our new favorites, loaded with inspiration and history. Some have already come out (looking at you, Mark Sikes!), and some will be out later this season (we love a good pre-order – and who doesn’t need something to look forward to in the latter half of 2020!) Take a look at some of our favorite books out this fall below.

We think you’re going to want to put this in your cart immediately—an inside look into the Obama White House designed by Michael Smith? Sign us up! This book documents the process of updating the residence that Smith did with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. It shares inside stories, beautiful photography, and a foreword by Michelle.

More Beautiful: All-American Decoration (September 1, 2020)

What’s better than one Mark Sikes coffee table book? Two, of course! After the success of Beautiful, Sikes has published More Beautiful: All-American Decoration, and picks up right where he left off. The book is filled with stunning visuals of the five categories of the book—traditional, country, coastal, Mediterranean, and beautiful.

Décors Barbares: The Enchanting Interiors of Nathalie Farman-Farma (September 2020)

Nathalie Farman-Farma’s textiles and interior spaces are absolutely stunning, and have gained such a strong following. So, it’s no surprise that this book is filled with her rich textiles and gorgeous spaces (including her Lake Tahoe home and London townhouse.)

Famous for her play with bold colors and textures, Katie Ridder’s book More Rooms will show just that! Ridder goes into detail on how she approaches decorating each room—from stairwells to bathrooms—and where her creativity comes from.

Markham Roberts: Notes on Decorating (September 2020)

In Markham Roberts’s second book, Notes on Decorating, Roberts explains his method to how he approaches each project he designs. He starts with his clients’ taste, interpreting their style, and moving on to make sure he creates a sense of place for them. So many good decorating tips along with beautiful visuals abound!

The Lives of Others: Sublime Interiors of Extraordinary People (September 8, 2020)

Renowned interiors photographer Simon Watson takes us into some of the most extraordinary spaces he’s ever photographed, like Christian Louboutin’s Paris apartment and Guinness heir Garech de Brun's retreat in County Wicklow, Ireland. He goes into detail about each space, and the experience he had there.

Stellene Volandes (Town & Country Editor in Chief and Elle Decor Editorial Director) is publishing her second book this October with Jewels That Made History: 101 Stones, Myths, and Legends. In the book, Volandes discusses major historical jewels—from Cleopatra to Meghan Markle—and how they’ve shaped history.

Holmes dives deep into the four most influential members of the Royal Family—Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle. The four sections of the book discuss each of their style revolutions and impact. A coincidence this book is coming out right after the season premiere of The Crown? Maybe!
