ABOUT CAITLIN

Caitlin Geier Fisher is a favorite of ours on Instagram: her beautifully curated feed featuring stunning interior shots, her adorable littles, and more is always a bright spot in our day. Caitlin currently lives outside of San Francisco and spends her time caring for her three young children and editing her lifestyle blog, Daily Cup of Couture. She started her blog over 10 years ago as a creative outlet to share the beautiful people, places, and things inspiring her at the moment. Prior to making the decision to stay home with her children, Caitlin had a career in merchandising for brands such as Gap, Janie & Jack, and finally for the women's ready-to-wear brand, Katie Ermilio. Caitlin adores how social media and her blog can blend seamlessly with her daily life with her children while still providing her with inspiration and a creative outlet for what she is passionate about, and we adore the content she so beautifully fills our feeds with. Describe your style in three words or less:

Classic & Feminine

What have been the three biggest influences on your aesthetic in your life:

One of my biggest influences on my aesthetic has always been my mother from the way she dressed us as children (never without a bow in our hair) to the beautiful, loving homes she has created. My other greatest influences have been the luxury of travel (particularly in Europe) and my time working with very talented people in the fashion industry during my early career.

How did you start your company, and/or what is your favorite thing about what you do:

I started my blog over ten years ago when I was first working in fashion merchandising just out of college. It was just as blogs were starting to emerge as a “thing” and I spent lots of time reading early blogs like “The Sartorialist” for work. It was actually while on a walk on the beach with my now husband (then boyfriend) who suggested I start writing my own blog given I spent so much time reading other peoples. It truly resonated with me as I had down quite a few of my internships in college on the editorial side of fashion for magazines like Town & Country and had always thought I might end up doing that for my career full-time. Editing my blog was a way to curate and share the beautiful things inspiring me at the moment. It has brought me so much joy over the past ten years and I am constantly so inspired by the talented people I have been connected with because of it along the way.

Do you have a mentor in your career, and if so, how have they helped to shape your trajectory:

I have had quite a few very strong and talented women I had the privilege working for early on in my career who have most certainly shaped where I am today. I think one of the biggest things they instilled in me early on in my career was confidence, which is something I have carried with me.

What does your home say about you:

That I love beautiful things, but also have three young children!

Where do you find inspiration:

Travel, my family and friends, and Instagram!

What design “rule” do you always follow, and which is made to be broken:

Rules are meant to be broken!

Chanel Ballet Flats, Ralph Lauren Cashmere Sweaters, and Pamela Munson straw bags.

Best interior advice you ever received:

Best career advice you ever received:

Sue Fisher King, One Kings Lane, and Ebay for some vintage.

Most prized possession and why:

Your interiors motto:

In the words of Mark D. Sikes, “Make it Beautiful!”

Your life motto:

“Do things, not because of who they are or what they do in return, but who you are”

Advice for someone looking to define their own interior style:

Stay true to yourself and what you love, but try to push yourself to be slightly uncomfortable in certain areas because you will most likely end up loving the outcome. And surround yourself with people and places that inspire you.
