Describe your style in three words or less:

Colorful, Timeless, Sophisticated.

What have been the three biggest influences on your aesthetic in your life:

Growing up in the South, living in New York and Los Angeles, and traveling.

How did you start your company, and/or what is your favorite thing about what you do:

It is such a privilege to help our clients create the space they call home. I treasure the relationships I have developed over the years with such amazing people—whether they be clients, vendors, or artisans!

Do you have a mentor in your career, and if so, how have they helped to shape your trajectory:

I have been surrounded by so many encouraging people! My husband, Justin, is my biggest cheerleader and supporter.

What does your home say about you:

That the cobbler has no shoes?? I’m kidding…kind of. I am very much a traditionalist at heart, and we moved into a coastal modern home almost two years ago. I have been taking my time and having fun with it, mixing antiques with modern upholstery while working up the courage to gut the kitchen. Stay tuned!

Where do you find inspiration:

It’s everywhere! Travel, Instagram, Pinterest, and just taking a walk outside are great places to start!! I love watching TV shows and movies, and usually find myself paying more attention to the set design than the storyline!

Who are your style icons:

So many! Dorothy Draper, Ralph Lauren, Mary McDonald, Oscar de la Renta, Aerin Lauder, Miles Redd, Mark D. Sikes

What are your key ingredients for entertaining:

Making sure that you are relaxed, and your guests are comfortable is essential. Place cards are a must! Put on a fun playlist, dim the lights, get creative with your tablescape and flowers, and incorporate a specialty cocktail!

Do you collect anything:

Vintage and antique silver pieces, Wedgewood Jasperware, and table linens

Favorite Instagram accounts to follow for inspiration:

@torimellott, @laurenfornes , @the_fox_group_, @aerin

What design “rule” do you always follow, and which is made to be broken:

Rules were meant to be broken! Go with your gut if it feels right.

What are you working on right now:

We are currently working on several historic renovations, a wellness spa, and an ultra-modern residence for an NBA player.

Wardrobe staples:

Floral dresses, blazers, jeans, and an assortment of flat shoes and sneakers—I  am always on the go and heels are not practical!

Favorite fabric/wallpaper:

Where do I even start?! I love Chintz, cut velvet, and anything animal print!

Best interior advice you ever received:

Every room needs something a little quirky to throw it off.

Best career advice you ever received:

Stay humble!  If you don’t value yourself or your time, no one else will. If you’re not early, you’re late. Say yes to the things that scare you.

Types of home purchases you invest in, and save on:

Invest in upholstery, antiques, art, and window treatments. Save on smaller pieces like drink tables, lamps, and accessories.

Your greatest extravagance:

Luxury hotels. Room Service. Sleeping In.

Favorite places to shop for home:

Any antique store! New Orleans is a great resource for the antiquity of all periods. I have also scored some beautiful pieces at a wonderful price in Atlanta. Scott’s is a must!

Most prized possession and why:

It’s not really a possession, but there is nothing I cherish more than my son Wyatt. I love seeing the world through his eyes with such sweet innocence.

Your interiors motto:

Buy the best and you only cry once!

Your life motto:

Treat every day as an occasion—tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Advice for someone looking to define their own interior style:

Save images of rooms that speak to you on Pinterest or Instagram. Look at them and see if there is a common theme among them that you are drawn to—is it the color palette? Furnishing style? Architectural details? Most importantly, be authentic to your true self. Don’t worry about what your best friend or your neighbor has. If you love it, that is all that matters!

Take Ten: My Favorite…

Drink: Champagne!

Film: The Devil Wears Prada

Hotel: The Greenbrier

City: New York

Tea or Coffee (and how do you take it): Hot coffee with milk and Truvia

Weekend Activity: Sleeping in and watching my son Wyatt play tennis

Design Book: Too many great ones to pick a favorite, but I can’t stop flipping through the late Suzanne Rheinstein’s most recent book “A Welcoming Elegance.” She was so timeless—a true icon.
