Dine In Style: The Mark’s Sailboat Dinner Experience
CLIMB ABOARD!
New York City has wholeheartedly embraced outdoor dining—streets closed for maximum space, tents erected for all weather conditions – not to mention ambiance boosting string lights everywhere you look. While street-side dining is getting us through the pandemic, we recently discovered an outdoor dining option that will take things up a notch (or three.)
Now until the end of October, The Mark Hotel is offering a unique dining experience aboard their 70 foot Mark Herreshoff Sailboat. Chef Jean-Georges will join onboard (yes, really!) and serve you a bespoke menu with his own twist (PSA: don’t miss the molten chocolate lava cake.) The two hour experience will have you sailing on the Hudson with views of the NYC skyline while you enjoy a delicious meal in a private-as-can-be setting – the boat holds only 10 guests at a time.
The boat in itself also boasts some superlatives — at over 100 years old, it was built by famous architect Nathananel Greene Herreshoff (who has built boats for the likes of William Randolph Hearst, so you know you’re dining in style.) Though summer may be behind us, it definitely doesn’t feel like it (hello to our ACs still running day and night.) So if you find yourself bummed about not being able to celebrate a special anniversary or milestone birthday this year – or just any old Tuesday – now’s the time!
